FRANKLIN, N.C. – Franklin is under a flash flood watch until Thursday, October at 8 p.m.
Neighboring North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia counties are also under a flash flood watch until Thursday.
The National Weather Service Office (NWS) cautioned residents to pay attention to later forecasts in case they need to take action.
In a longer weather report, NWS stated:
“Rounds of showers with embedded thunderstorms are expected tonight through Thursday. Additional rainfall totals of up to three to five inches are possible across the watch area during this period. There is potential for localized flash flooding and quick rises on rivers and creeks, given the wet ground from rainfall yesterday.”
The weather appears to improve by the weekend.
