MCSO Announces Death of Retired K9 Chase

PRESS RELEASE – With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of retired K9 Chase. EOW: 3.26.26

K9 Chase served at the Macon County Sheriff’s Office for 10 years before retiring in August 2025. In his decade-long career with MCSO, K9 Chase was deployed 611 times, resulting in:

– 4,258.08 grams of methamphetamine
– 43.93 grams of heroin
– 1.5 grams of cocaine
– 60 grams of fentanyl
– 17 non-bite apprehensions
– 4 missing people located.

K9 Chase was able to enjoy seven months of retirement at home with his longtime handler Cpl. Blanton, and passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him most.
